House Chek

I have been in the home inspection business since 1999. Prior to opening HouseChek, I was a home builder for 17 years in northwestern Oregon.

I am a
Certified Master Inspector®, have completed more than 4,000 paid inspections in Southern Utah and Nevada, with countless hours of continuing education, have been in business for more than 9 years, abide by the Master Inspector Certification Board’s strict Code of Ethics, abide by a Board approved Standards of Practice, and have passed a criminal background check. I am the only Certified Master Inspector® in southern Utah and one of only two in Utah.

No other inspector in southern Utah comes close to the experience level I have.

The State of Utah does not license home inspectors. If you talked to an inspector who claims to be licensed it is a city business license, not a professional license.

Certification of home inspectors through professional organizations can be purchased for as little as $195.00 per year with a few hours of computer or in-class training. Many inspectors have little or no experience in the home construction field.

“Don’t trust your inspection to the new guy on the block”. Use a tried and tested professional who has learned to balance inspections, knowing the difference between insignificant home defects and major problems. I can explain how to repair/replace deficiencies.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. I will make it a professional experience in every way.

Stressed?

Relax. Most of your inspection will be maintenance recommendations, life expectancies and minor imperfections. The issues that really matter will fall into four categories:

  1. Major defects. An example of this would be a structural failure.
  2. Things that lead to major defects. A small roof-flashing leak, for example.
  3. Things that may hinder your ability to finance, legally occupy, or insure the home.
  4. Safety hazards, such as an exposed, live buss bar at the electric panel.
Thanks to a home inspection, serious problems like these are caught and can often be corrected inexpensively to protect both life and property. So don't wait, get your inspection today.
